How to File a Hail Damage Insurance Claim in Iowa

American Family

Travelers

What If My Claim Is Denied?

Rare but it happens. Three reasons it could be:

• You don't have comprehensive coverage (only liability) — hail wouldn't be covered.
• The damage is older than your policy
• The adjuster classifies it as wear-and-tear, not storm damage

If denied: request a written denial letter, then request a re-inspection with an independent appraiser. The cost is usually waived if the appeal succeeds. A PDR shop can also provide a third-party damage assessment that often turns the claim around.
